Premier Matteo Renzi has said he
had nothing to do with controversial appointments of the new
heads of the TG2 and TG3 news services on State broadcaster
RAI's RAI2 and RAI3 channels.
Ida Colucci took over TG2 in the place of Marcello Masi
and Luca Mazza' replaced Bianca Berlinguer at TG3.
Opposition parties argue that Premier Matteo Renzi's
government is trying to muffle dissent ahead of this autumn's
referendum on its package to overhaul Italy's political
machinery.
"I didn't have a say in the appointments," Renzi said
late on Tuesday.
