Interior Minister Angelino Alfano
said Wednesday that the publication of wiretaps pertaining to a
corruption probe which suggest his father sent 80 CVs for people
wanting jobs at Italy's postal service was "barbaric".
Alfano, who is not being probed, was already at the centre
of a storm after his name was mentioned in investigation
wiretaps over his brother's appointment at a company belonging
to Poste Italiane.
"Today illegal barbarism goes as far as to show from
wiretaps between two secretaries that an 80-year-old man, whose
condition has been hit from some time by a neurodegenerative
disease that means he is no longer fully self sufficient,
reportedly applied pressure at the postal company," the minister
said. "It's indecent to give credit to two ladies who speak and
insult me. I don't know who they are".
