There is "absolutely no chance" of
Silvio Berlusconi's new bovine aortic valve being rejected,
heart surgeon Ottavio Alfieri said Wednesday. "It is material
that may deteriorate over time, but the deterioration does not
happen before 15-20 years," he said. Alfieri said bovine aortic
valves were "the best, with the most follow-ups and are used on
all patients who need bio protection". It is expected to take up
to two months for the 79-year-old three-time premier and media
magnate to get back up to speed in his centre-right political
career.
