Premier Matteo Renzi said Tuesday
that his Democratic Party (PD) will stage events this Thursday,
which would have been the deadline for some property taxes
scrapped by his government, to vaunt his executive's record on
cutting taxes. "On Thursday 16 million Italians will not pay
TASI on their first homes," Renzi said in his e-news newsletter.
"They won't pay agricultural IMU either and they will finally
see cuts in (regional business tax) IRAP". Renzi added that tax
cuts are not the only government move to be hailed. "From civil
rights to the civil service, from institutional reforms to
investments in schools, culture and research, the tune has
changed compared with the years in which everything was put
off," he said.
