Ancona's bankruptcy court on
Monday postponed ruling on the request by bank commissioner
Bruno Inzitari to declare the "old" Banca Marche insolvent.
ANSA sources said the court's decision could arrive within
the next week.
The decision will also include a ruling on objections by
banking foundations in Jesi and Pesaro, which are opposed to the
insolvency request, that last year's Banca Marche rescue was
unconstitutional.
Banca Marche was one of four banks saved last year in a
3.6-billion-euro government-decreed bailout financed by healthy
Italian banks.
Inzitari said there are "no reasons" to deny the insolvency
request.
"(Insolvency requests) have already been granted for Banca
Etruria and CariFerrara, and this one should be granted too,"
Inzitari said.
