Premier Matteo Renzi's
government on Wednesday again denied plans to cut State pensions
that have been transferred to a spouse following the death of
the holder.
"The government does not plan any interventions on
transferred pensions," Pier Carlo Padoan said during a question
time session in the Lower House.
"All the current positions will remain intact".
Previous denials failed to deflate the row linked to a
proposed government enabling law on fighting poverty.
Opposition parties have said this could see transferred
pensions being linked to a person's score on the ISEE means
test.
