The Dublin Regulation saying
countries where migrants arrive must process their asylum claims
is "inapplicable", Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said
Wednesday. "The European rules on migrant reception are neither
applied nor applicable," he said. "There is nothing that harms
Europe more than pretending to apply inapplicable rules". he
said "we will work to modify superseded rules, because the
country of first arrival is not able to resolve on its own
(migrant flows)". Gentiloni was speaking at the conference The
Challenge of Migrations at the Pontifical Gregorian University
in Rome.
