United States Secretary of State
John Kerry said Tuesday in Rome that more financial aid for Iraq
is needed to help it restore order and public services in areas
liberated from Islamic terrorists. Western allies need to
cooperate with the Iraqi government to ensure land liberated
from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) fundamentalist
insurgency stays liberated, that water and electricity get
turned back on in those areas and that residents return to a
normal life as much as possible. Kerry spoke at a joint press
conference with Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
