The anti-establishment 5-Star
Movement (M5S) mayor of Quarto near Naples, Rosa Capuozzo, said
Tuesday she was not quitting even after being ejected from the
M5S over alleged blackmail by a former M5S member linked to the
local Camorra mafia. "The mayor, despite her expulsion decreed
this morning by the 5-Star Movement, and the caucus of majority
councillors have decided to continue," a statement said. M5S
leader Beppe Grillo has issued several calls for Capuozzo to
step down after her expulsion.
