Italian President Sergio
Mattarella on Tuesday wrote to Turkish President Tayyip Recep
Erdogan saying that "blind violence will not halt us" after a
bomb blast that killed at least 10 people in Istanbul.
"This further gesture of blind and senseless violence will
not make us step back against the enemies of democracy and
peaceful co-existence," Mattarella said, asking Erdogan to pass
on condolences.
"At this time of deep pain Italy is at Turkey's side in the
ceaseless struggle against terrorism," he said.
