A 37-year-old woman was given a life
sentence by a Milan court on Monday for the homicide of her
18-month-old daughter, who died after being abandoned by her for
six days in July 2022.
The lawyer of Alessia Pifferi unsuccessfully argued that the
woman should have been acquitted as she suffers learning
disabilities, has been the victim of abuse and did not intend to
kill the girl, whose name was Diana.
