A 23-year-old man from Catania has
been crowned Mr Italy.
Walter Zappala, a 1.86 m (6ft 2) tall, dark haired political
science graduate who wants to make it in show business, was
named Italy's best-looking man by a jury led by the soubrette
Nathalie Caldonazzo in Pescara at the weekend.
A former winner, Luca Onestini, presented the final night of the
contest with singer Jo Squillo.
"I still have to realize what happened," said Zappala, who
practises soccer, swimming and judo.
"I dedicate this above all to my family," he said.
"My dad Lanfranco is here with me in Pescara but the first phone
call cam from home with my mother Anna and my sister Ginevra, in
tears of joy".
