A 4.1 magnitude earthquake
shook the province of Rieti in central Italy in the early hours
of Tuesday morning.
The quake at 1.34 am was followed by a smaller tremor 13
minutes later, while other earthquakes measuring 3.1 and 3.4
were registered near the Umbria town of Norcia around 5.30 am.
The tremors were clearly felt in Amatrice, Accumoli and
Arquata del Tronto, the Lazio and Marche towns destroyed by the
6.0-magnitude quake on August 24. No collapses or injuries were
reported, however.
