The national partisans'
association ANPI has expressed "strong outrage" for attacks from
information and media outlets against its members due to the
group's opposition to the government's Constitutional reform.
ANPI said it is against the reform, which aims to cut
gridlock by turning the Senate into a smaller, regionally based
body with limited powers, based on its historical commitment to
defend the constitution.
It described the criticism it had faced as a "campaign of
aggression" that appeared to hamper its right to discuss matters
of general and national interest.
It accepted that the media had the right to criticise its
viewpoint but said it was opposed to "insults, offence, and in
some cases defamation and lies".
