A Tunisian terror suspect was
deported Thursday bringing to 44 such deportations this year,
and 110 since the start of 2015, Interior Minister Angelino
Alfano said.
The man, 35, was found guilty of terror conspiracy in 2015
along with the imam of Andria, who was deported on August 13,
Alfano said, but the sentence was overturned by the supreme
Court of Cassation on August 2.
"His violent nature, which led to his praising jihad and
believing that death in battle was a legitimate aspiration, as
well as his praise for the Paris attacks, earned him a
deportation decree for reasons of State security," Alfano said.
"(There can be) no tolerance for those who don't respect
our laws and espouse schemes of violence and death".
The government has recently launched a drive to raise
security, leading to an increase in the number of terror
suspects being deported.
