A Calabrian shopkeeper was
shot dead when he came to the door of his mother's house to
answer the bell in the town of Rosarno Sunday night, sources
said Tuesday.
Antonio Scarfone, 49, said to be known to police, died
instantly after being hit by two shots, one in the head.
Police said the murder did not appear to be linked to the
Calabria-based 'Ndrangheta mafia.
