Siena prosecutors said Friday that
two people already heard by investigators in connection with the
alleged suicide of David Rossi, the former head of
communications of troubled bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS),
would be summoned for further questioning after video
surveillance footage originally used to identify them was
circulated online.
In the footage the pair can be seen approaching Rossi's
body after he fell to his death from an office window in March
2013, shortly after it emerged that a shady series of derivative
and structured-finance deals produced losses of 720 million
euros for the bank.
One of the two is then said to have called the emergency
services.
The pair were heard by prosecutors during early
investigations but "for definitive confirmation and to prevent
all further conjecture" they will be questioned again as part of
a new investigation into the death amid claims by Rossi's family
that the manager was murdered.
Investigators say the people appeared in the video little
over an hour after Rossi fell to his death from the office
window.
