The mother of a young woman who was
strangled and then set on fire by her ex at the end of May said
Friday she would fight for justice.
"There must be justice," said the mother of Sara Di
Pietrantonio, a 22-year-old university student, at her funeral
in Rome.
"I will fight with all my strength for justice to be done,"
she continued.
Vincenzo Paduano, 27, faces charges of stalking and
premeditated murder after confessing to killing Di Pietrantonio
on May 29 shortly after the couple split.
Her mother found her body near her abandoned car a short
distance from the family home in southern Rome.
The corpse and the vehicle were both still on fire.
