The health of legal migrants living
in Italy is experiencing a decline, with legal migrants who have
lived in Italy for 10 or more years at a 20% higher risk for
poor health than those who have lived in the country for less
time, said Istat on Thursday.
The national statistics bureau released a study titled
"Condition and social integration of foreign citizens 2012-13"
that showed the economic crisis has played a role in the
deteriorating health of legal migrants in the country since
2005, when foreign residents showed higher levels of health
compared to Italians.
