Finance police on Friday rescued
a number of dogs, two ponies, a donkey and several birds from an
illegal facility in the garden of a house in the town of Rho
just north of Milan.
The raid took place after activists from Italian animal
rights organization EITAL reported animals were being held there
in conditions of extreme neglect.
Police rescued breed dogs such as poodles and Pomeranians
that were being kept in tiny cages, and found the carcasses of
several dogs in the fridge.
