Freed Libya hostage Filippo Calcagno
said Monday he managed to open the door of the house he and Gino
Pollicardo were being held in with a nail. "I worked that door a
lot. I realised that you can do a lot of things with a nail. I
worked on the lock, or rather the part where the lock is
inserted into the door. The wood was hard but gradually, with
determination, I weakened that part. Then I called Gino, because
my fingers had been hurting for days and I told him 'come on
Gino if you hit it a couple of times we can do it'".
