(ANSA)- Rome, February 17 - An Italian-led team has found a protein that helps cancers spread, paving the way for potential new drugs to fight tumours.
The protein, Mical2, was discovered by an international team coordinated by the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa.
Blocking the protein would potentially stop metastasis, the team say.
Identifying Mical2 would also help diagnosis, they said.
