Two people were shot dead in
the province of Naples in the early hours of Thursday morning,
taking to five the number of homicides in the area in a week.
Francesco Tafuro, 33, and Marcello Liguori, 32, were
ambushed while driving through a rural area in Saviano.
One of the men was found dead inside the car and the other
a short distance away.
Liguori was known to police for gambling.
The double homicide came on the heels of the assassination
of Giuseppe Calise, 24, and Pasquale Zito, 21, in Naples on
February 4-5 and of Francesco Esposito, 33, in Marigliano on the
night of February 6.
