Italy had more than 608,000
accommodation structures available on the Airbnb platform in
2023, according to a study by the JFC tourism consulting agency
that ANSA has had a sneak preview of.
It said Tuscany was the region with the highest number of
Airbnbs, accounting for 12.9% of the total, followed by Sicily
(11.4%), Lombardy (11.1%), Puglia (8.9%), Sardinia (8.4%), Lazio
(8.3%), Campania (6.8%) and Veneto (5.7%).
It said the Airbnbs in Lazio, the region Rome belongs to, had
the highest occupation rate, 69.3%, followed Veneto (62.5%) and
Lombardy (60.3%).
It said Florence and Venice were the cities most at stress in
terms of the number of Airbnbs in relation to the resident
population.
