Italy's long-awaited mini-budget
"should arrive tomorrow, it is a rather bulky decree," Economy
Minister Pier Carlo Padoan said Wednesday. "Sorry for the
delay," he said. The adjustment, which cuts the deficit by an
extra 3.4 billion euros or 0.2% of GDP to meet EU demands, also
contains growth-stoking measures. He aid it had not yet been
decided whether to hike VAT to be able to cut the so-called 'tax
wedge'.
