STX France jobs will be safe for
at least the next 10 years, Fincantieri CEO Gisueppe Boni told
management and workers in Saint Nazaire in his first press
conference since the Italian shipbuilding giant bought the
French yards.
"We must work in these 10 years to prepare the next 10
years," through "innovation, new products and maintaining the
competitive capacity that enables us to give quality at the best
market prices.
"Working in this sector, we have no need to acquire knowhow".
Bono went on to say: "We are Italians, we have no colonialist
soul and we have come to maintain, improve and give more
stability to our firms.
He said "your model of governance and management, in which we
once again renew all our faith, will be autonomous.
"It would be stupid for a company like Fincantieri, which
works in the same sector, not to exploit synergies that may be
there".
