Italian banking loans were 1.4% up
in March after a 2% rise in February, the Italian banking
association (ABI) said Tuesday. Mortgages were 3% up in March
but loans to businesses were stagnant, the ABI said. Premier
Paolo Gentiloni's government has been trying to boost credit to
industry.
