The number of steady job hires fell by 395,000 or 32.9% in the fist eight months of the year compared to the same period last year, INPS pensions and social security agency said Tuesday. Overall, private-sector hires of all kinds were down by 351,000 units or 8.5% to 3.782 million, INPS said. The INPS observatory on precarious work said the drop in steady hires should be seen "in the light of a strong increase in steady hires in 2015, when firms could take advantage of the complete lifting of social security contributions for three years."
