Italian industrial production
was up 0.4% in July with respect to June, a rise after two
month-on-month drops, Istat said on Tuesday. But production was
0.3% down with respect to July 2015, according to seasonally
adjusted data released by the national statistics agency. Istat
went on to say that "the recovery of the levels of production on
a monthly basis is associated with a negative quarterly trend:
production in the May-July 2016 quarter on average fell 0.5%
compared to the previous quarter". On the other hand, there was
an average 0.6% rise in the first seven months of the year
compared to the same period in 2015.
