Qatar Airways and Meridiana on
Thursday signed a deal for Qatar to buy 49% of the Sardinian
airline, sources close to the deal told ANSA. Talks with Qatar
Airways to rescue the struggling regional airline have been
going ahead for months. In June Qatar pulled out of talks due to
a trade-union stance but Transport Minister Graziano Delrio
worked hard to bring it back to the table.
