Bourse regulator CONSOB on
Wednesday banned short-selling of troubled Tuscan bank Monte dei
Paschi di Siena (MPS) for the next three months.
The ban, which will also cover derivatives and market
makers, will last from tomorrow, July 7 to October 5, CONSOB
said.
MPS recovered slightly Wednedsay after being pummelled in
the first two sessions of the week after the European Central
Bank asked it to shed almost 10 billion euros of net
non-performing loans by the end of 2018.
