bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco
said Thursday that "cutting the times of recovery of credits y
two years could lead to halving the level of non-performing
loans (NPLs) as a proportion of the total (loans). A high level
of NPLs is one of the major problems facing the Italian banking
system. The private Atlante fund has been set up to help address
the problem.
