A possible cut in personal
income tax IRPEF brought forward to 2017, as aired by the
Italian government, will be weighed along with other budgetary
measures, a spokesman for the European Commission said Monday.
"We have no comment, we are assessing the budget and any
evaluation will be made during this exercise," he said. Premier
Matteo Renzi has repeatedly said he would like to see the
scheduled IRPEF cut brought forward from 2018, while he would
also like to bring forward a cut in business taxes.
