Agromafias are increasingly
widespread in Italy, the Coldiretti farmers' association said
Wednesday.
It said agromafia business was over 16 billion euros in
2015.
Agromafias showed an "elevated" presence in the south of
Italy, and "stable and strong" in the centre, especially in
Abruzzo and Umbria, some parts of Marche, around Grosseto, and
in Lazio, mostly around Latina and Frosinone.
In the north the phenomenon is "evident" in Piedmont,
northern Lombardy, the province of Venice and Romagna.
