Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
(FCA) on Tuesday reported a 2% rise in US August sales, boosted
by strong sales of Jeeps and pick-up trucks.
FCA said it had shifted 201,672 units last month, the
strongest August sales performance since 2002 and the 65th
consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases.
U.S. sales of the Jeep brand increased 18% from year-ago
levels, marking their best ever sales month and a 23rd
consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.
Sales of the Ram Truck brand rose 6%, their best August
performance since 2005.
The Chrysler brand suffered however, recording a sales
decline of 14% compared to the same period last year.
