An Italian air force plane took off
from Egypt on Sunday carrying Palestinian children from Gaza who
will receive treatment in hospitals in Italy.
"The commitment of the defence ministry continues: Italy is
doing everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the
civilian population," said Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on X.
The plane is carrying 45 people including 14 children, 8 adults
and 23 escorts and is scheduled to arrive at Rome's Ciampino
airport around 6 pm local time.
The youngest child on board is Aisel, a girl of just four
months.
The young patients will receive treatment in pediatric hospitals
in Naples, Florence, Genoa, Milan, Bologna and Rome.
