Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal
Pietro Parolin said Wednesday that he hopes Pope Francis will be
able to return to his duties soon after being admitted to
hospital for abdominal surgery.
"We follow him with our affection. We follow him with our
prayers, hoping that everything can be resolved as soon as
possible and he returns to exercising his ministry," Parolin
told reporters.
When asked if he was worried, Parolin replied: "I wouldn't know
what to say because I do not have information to say one thing
or another.
"It seemed to me that the (Vatican) statement said things in a
highly technical way, which is perhaps not even that easy to
understand, but it gives the elements needed to put the problem
into context".
