Premier Mario Draghi said in
inaugurating a Rome park named after late Israeli President
Yitzhak Rabin Thursday that negotiations are the only way to
peace in Ukraine, as the late Israeli president showed in the
MIdeast peace process.
"The figure of Yitzhak Rabin personifies an incessant search for
peace," he said.
"The truce reached with Egypt in the 1970s, the 1993 Oslo
Accords which earned him the Nobel Peace Prize, and the treaty
with Jordan in 1994 are a reference point for all those who
believe in negotiations as the only way to resolve disputes,
even the harshest and most violent.
"A lesson that Yitzhak Rabin left all of us and which keeps
intact his value in the tragic events of these days".
