(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 2 - Serbian leadership expressed its
concern over the transfer of war crimes cases from the Eulex
judges (the European mission in Kosovo) to their Kosovar
colleagues.
The crimes are both those committed by the Kosovo Liberation
Army (KLA) fighters against the Serbs, and those against ethnic
Albanian Kosovars, which Serbian exponents are charged with.
''I do not expect people who do not guarantee the fundamental
human rights of the Serbian population in Kosovo to treat
criminal cases in a serious and correct way'', said Serbia's
premier Ana Brnabic, cited by the local media.
Milovan Drecun, head of the Serbian parliamentary committee
for the problems of Kosovo expressed similar concerns. According
to Drecun, there are 11 war crime cases involving Serbian
exponents. The Eulex mission, after 10 years, officially
concluded its mandate in Kosovo last June, where however some of
its representatives remain and play an advisory role.
