(ANSA) - BRATISLAVA - The new Slovak government, composed of four parties (both to leftwing and rightwing) is ready and the coalition Smer-SD led by Prime Minister Robert Fico will appoint 9 ministers. Miroslav Lajcak will remain at the head of diplomacy and Robert Kalinak is confirmed as Interior Minister. Three ministers of the new government were appointed by the Slovak National Party (SNS), whereas Peter Gajdos - since 2013 deputy chief of staff of the Slovak armed forces - was appointed as the Defence Minister. Two ministers were appointed by Most-Hid, the party of the Hungarian minority, whereas the rightwing party Siet (Network) appointed the Transport Minister. The outgoing one-party government led by premier Fico is expected to resign today. President Andrej Kiska will then entrust Fico with the power to appoint the new government. The Social Democrats of Smer-SD won the general election on March 4, but lost majority in parliament. Therefore, Fico was forced to form a coalition with 4 of the 8 parties that entered parliament.
