(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 30 AGO - A "festival of ingenuity" taking place Saturday and Sunday will gather more than 200 makers, enthusiasts, digital and traditional artisans, inventors, volunteers, and researchers in Trieste's Piazza Unità d'Italia to present hundreds of new projects.

This meeting occurs on the ninth edition of the Maker Faire Trieste, promoted by the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the Municipality of Trieste, with the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

The initiative, presented today, will also include a section dedicated to interactive science, namely the "Science Picnic," with meetings with researchers, experiments, performances, and educational workshops to bring younger people closer to the world of science.

The event also features "Hiška Eksperimentov" (The Little House of Experiments), an interactive science and technology museum from Ljubljana with more than 50 self-built scientific apparatuses that visitors will be able to operate.

Moreover, "Science Under 18: Science at School from the age of three and up," showcases several science projects and exhibits developed by students from Gorizia, Trieste, and Udine.

The "makers" will come mainly from the four provinces of Fvg but also other Italian regions and Slovenia, Croatia, and other European countries.

"The Region's support for this event is motivated by the conviction that the territory has a consolidated vocation marked by research," underlined the regional councilor for local authorities, Pierpaolo Roberti. "Therefore - he added - in the last budget settlement, we also allocated significant resources to attract companies by the high concentration of scientific entities in the Julian area." (ANSA).
