Zelensky hints at compromise agreement without Crimea

Russia should go back to February 23 positions

06 May, 21:06
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 6 - Ukraine would be willing to accept a compromise peace agreement with Russia if Moscow's forces withdraw "to their February 23 positions," Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video at Chatham House, a British think tank based in London. In this way, Zelensky hinted that, at least for now, Kyiv would not expect the return of Crimea, annexed by the Russians in 2014. "For our part, not all the diplomatic bridges have been burned," Zelensky then specified, avoiding making requests even on that part of the Donbas between Donetsk and Lugansk, which hasn't been in control of Kyiv since 2014.
