Transport: Balkan countries to work on Corridor VIII
Bulgaria, Albania, North Macedonia involved
20 October, 13:47Among the project foreseen in the MoC, Bulgaria plans to launch a tender for the construction of the Pernik-Radomir railway section and to to build a railway link from the town of Gyueshevo to North Macedonia. North Macedonia said it will complete the railway from Kumanovo to Kriva Palanka, a new railway from Kriva Palanka to the border with Bulgaria and another new one from Kichevo to Albania. Albania, among other things, will rehabilitate the Tirana-Durres railway line and rehabilitate the line from Durres to Lin and build a railway link from Lin to the border with North Macedonia, the portal specified.
The Pan-European Transport Corridor VIII connects, via North Macedonia, the port of Durres, in Albania, to the port of Varna, in Bulgaria. (ANSA).
