Transport: Hungary starts modernisation of railway to Serbia
Hungarian and Chinese firms will be working on project
19 October, 11:57 (ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 19 - Hungary started working on the
upgrade of its section of the railway line between Budapest and
Belgrade, Hungarian railway operator MAV said, the specialised
portal SeeNews reported.
The project will include the construction of a dual-track line with a maximum speed of 160 km/h and will be completed by 2025.
A consortium of Hungarian and Chinese firms signed two years ago a 1.8 billion euro contract for the realisation of the project on the Hungarian territory, the portal said. Serbia started already in 2017 the modernisation of the railway line from Belgrade to the Serbian-Hungarian border. (ANSA).
