(ANSA) - PRISTINA, JUNE 4 - The new Kosovar Prime Minister
Avdullah Hoti officially took office today at the helm of the
new government, in the aftermath of the confidence vote he won
yesterday in parliament. However, the outgoing premier Albin
Kurti did not attend the handover ceremony, asking for new
elections and strongly opposing the procedure followed by
President Hashim Thaci, who chose the path of a new
parliamentary majority, entrusting Hoti with the task of forming
a new government. Hoti was vice-premier in the Kurti-led
government, which had immediately dismissed him after his
party's vote of no-confidence in parliament on March 25.
Yesterday, presenting the government program in parliament, the
neo-premier Hoti mentioned three priorities of his political
action: the resumption of dialogue with Belgrade, the fight
against the pandemic, and the economic recovery. (ANSA)
