Czechia remains the EU country with the lowest unemployment

Prague has also the lowest number of youth out of job

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JANUARY 30 - The Czech Republic remains the country in the European Union with the lowest unemployment rate, new data from Eurostat show. In December 2019, the lowest levels of unemployment were registered in Czechia (2.0%), Germany and the Netherlands (both 3.2%), while the highest were recorded in in Greece (16.6% in October 2019) and Spain (13.7%), the EU statistical office said.

On a yearly basis, in December 2019 the largest decreases of unemployment were registered in Greece (from 18.5% to 16.6%), Bulgaria (from 4.7% to 3.7%) and Croatia (from 7.3% to 6.4%), while the unemployment grew, among others, in Slovenia (from 4.4% to 4.6%) and Lithuania (from 5.8% to 6.1%).

The lowest rates of youth unemployment were observed in Czechia (4.3%) and Germany (5.8%). (ANSA).
