(ANSA) - PRISTINA, JANUARY 20 - Self-determination
(nationalist left), the party that won the early election held
on October 6 in Kosovo, proposed today its leader Albin Kurti
for the task of forming the new government, local media reported
in Pristina.
The party thus responded to the repeated calls of President
Hashim Thaci, who for some time had asked the relative majority
party for a formal indication of a personality to appoint to
form the new government. Thaci then summoned Kurti to the
presidency's headquarters at mid-day, so he's expected to be
given the task. The self-determination leader has been
negotiating for over three months with Isa Mustafa, head of the
Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK, center-right), the party that
came second in the election, to form a new government, but no
agreement has been reached yet. (ANSA).
