Serbia: opponents try to break into Belgrade City Hall

Vucic condemns ' fascist attack. Violence will never win'

04 April, 17:13
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APRIL 4 - In Belgrade a group of opponents led by some members of the 'Alliance for Serbia' (SzS), tried today to break into the City Hall, to protest against the measures and projects which are being evaluated by the city authorities. The municipal council meeting was then interrupted, and the political tension suddenly rose in the capital. The action was severely condemned by president Aleksandar Vucic, who spoke of a 'fascist attack' by Bosko Obradovic (one of SzS's leaders) and his followers. ''Violence and fascist ideas will never win'', Vucic said. On March 16, groups of opponents led by Bosko Obradovic - who is the 'boss' of the far-right group 'Dveri' - raided the headquarters of Serbian public television RTS, causing incidents and clashes with the police.
