Czech Republic with the lowest unemployment in the EU
Several Central- and Eastern countries below European average
01 April, 17:02 (ANSA) - BELGRADE, 01 APR - The Czech Republic remains the
European Union country with the lowest unemployment rate, show
new data made public by Eurostat today.
In February 2019, the EU statistical office said, the lowest share of people out of work was registered in Czechia (1.9% unemployment rate), followed by Germany (3.1%) and the Netherlands (3.4%). Rates below the EU average (6.5%) were recorded also in Hungary and Poland (both 3.5%), Romania (3.8%), Estonia (4.2%), Slovenia (4.4%), Bulgaria (4.7%), Austria (5.0%), Slovakia (5.8%) and Lithuania (6.1%).
The lowest youth unemployment rates were observed in Germany (5.6%), Czechia (6.0%) and the Netherlands (6.4%), Eurostat added. (ANSA).
