(ANSA) - FIUMICINO (ROME), JUNE 16 - Hungary's Wizz Air carrier
has announced the opening at Leonardo da Vinci airport at
Fiumicino of the new route connecting Rome with Kutaisi, the
second biggest city in Georgia.
After the launch, in 2016, of the Milan Malpensa-Kutaisi flight
with 3 weekly connections, this time the low cost carrier has
chosen to expand its offer to the Caucasian country, with two
weekly connections from Italy's capital city, Thursday and
Sunday. The Wizz Air company had planned to invest again on the
Italy-Georgia route, even thanks to the results achieved in the
tourism industry, which has recorded a steadily increasing trend
and accounts for 6.8% of Georgian GDP. The number of visitors
who chose to discover this country amounted to 7.6 million in
2017, 19% more than the previous year. (ANSA).
